Mr. TomatoS is an addictive simulation game that keeps you on your toes. It puts you in control of feeding the character of the same name who is always hungry. Mr. TomatoS asks you to figure out the best way to treat him to the food he wants. You simply pick food from the bottom of the screen, drag it to the blender, mix it up, and then feed him. While it sounds simple, this game is a little more challenging than you might think. As soon as you make the wrong choice, the game ends and you need to start over. This game features a cartoon background that might remind you of some of your favorite shows and simple graphics that remind you of a different era.
When you open Mr. TomatoS, you will see three options on the home screen. Click on the Exit button to close the game and leave. Use the How to Play option to learn how to play the game. You'll also see a Shop button that takes you to the virtual shop. This helps you find new things that you can use in the game and as decorations. While you cannot buy anything the first time you open the game, you will slowly earn points as you play. Those points serve as money that you can spend in the shop on anything you want.
Make sure you pay attention in the Shop as you can see all available items and how many you have of certain things. It also shows you how much each item costs. For example, you need to earn 500 points before you can buy a knife. The Shop also features a light that illuminates your screen to help you see better and a radio to keep Mr. TomatoS calm. Grab the knife to chop ingredients or pick a piece of candy. When Mr. TomatoS gets impatient, you can feed him the candy to calm him down until you prepare the recipe.
Before you play, you have the chance to pick which items you want to take into the level. Each one will appear on one of the white squares at the bottom of the screen. The top of the screen shows the total number of points you have as well as the anger points you picked up. Below the points area is a red bubble that tells you how many more points you need to earn to finish the level. The more points you earn in a single level, the more items you can buy in the Shop.
Another aspect of Mr. TomatoS is that the character only wants certain types of food. Unlike other feeding games that include real foods, this one is a little gorier. Mr. TomatoS only wants to eat body parts that include hands, eyes, and brains. While you can drag those foods right into his mouth and drop them, you can also mix them in the blender when he wants a bigger meal. When you make the wrong choice, you earn an anger point. Once you hit 10 anger points, the game ends. This causes Mr. TomatoS to go a little crazy and just right at the screen to attack you.
The Mr. TomatoS game features a character named Mr. TomatoS. He looks like a bright red tomato with a green stem, a small mouth, and bright blue eyes. As he doesn't have hands, he can't feed himself. You receive a series of resources or ingredients that you mix together to make each meal. Pick the right strategy to make sure that you don't run out of food or make him wait too long. If Mr. TomatoS isn't happy, your anger points will grow. When Mr. TomatoS hits a higher number of anger points, he blows his top and ends the game.
An early version of the game only allowed you to play it once. As soon as you received your score, you could not play again. The makers of the game received feedback from players that made them go back to the drawing board and change the ending. As long as you download the new version, you can play as many times as you want. Many players love checking their scores and trying to hit a higher number each time. Another fun addition is that it now comes with different endings. No matter how many times you play or what you do in the game, you never know which ending you might get.
If you manage to make it to the end without Mr. TomatoS going crazy, he'll tell you that you did a good job and then demand your soul. You then head to a new level where you receive bottles filled with poison. The game asks to hit him with these bottles to defeat him, but at the same time, his anger level will keep growing. As long as you feed him from some of the body parts on the side and bottom of the screen, you can win. The most challenging part is that you need to move back and forth between the food and the poison until you finally win.
Playing Mr. TomatoS is easy, even for younger players. All you need is a copy of the game, a computer, and a mouse. Use your mouse to move across the screen. Press the button on the left side to grab an ingredient. You'll then carry it over to the blender and release the button to drop it inside. If you want to use the blender, you must pick two different ingredients. Not all ingredients work together though. When you pick two that aren't compatible and try to feed Mr. TomatoS, he'll become very unhappy. Keep in mind that the game is also quite gory and might be too dark for some kids.
You can also feed Mr. TomatoS individual ingredients. Simply grab the ingredient you want with your mouse and drop it right in his mouth. The game becomes more challenging when you start blending things. Mr. TomatoS does not want to wait for his food and his anger points will grow as he waits for you. You may need to give him different ingredients while you blend others to keep him happy. Every time you make a mistake within the game, you'll see his anger points growing. Once you hit the set number of points needed, the level will close and give you the chance to visit the Shop.
Another challenging element is that you can't always see the ingredients. During the early stages, the game shows you all ingredients and lets you pick the ones you want to use. As you advance, it places those ingredients inside bags. You never know what you might grab. This makes grabbing the wrong item easy and causes the levels to end faster. As his anger grows, Mr. TomatoS will go from a standard tomato with a cute smile to a scary tomato that looks like the devil.
One of the biggest complaints from Mr. TomatoS players is that the graphics were bland. If you ever played the old flash games from years past, you know what to expect from this game. While the character is quite animated, the backgrounds are stable and never change. This gives the game a repetitive element that some players disliked. It also lacks good instructions and details. You may find it helpful to play a few levels because the included guide is confusing.
While Mr. TomatoS isn't suitable for all players, it's a fun way to spend a few minutes. Keep feeding Mr. TomatoS to earn more points and keep him happy. You can then head to the Shop and buy new supplies to decorate your kitchen and keep him calmer. Though the game is frustrating at times, Mr. TomatoS offers a lot of fun for players who like old flash games.
